Helps families with homeownership within their community through a zero-mortgage program. Qualified families must show that they have a need for housing, are willing to partner, and are able to pay for a mortgage. A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) serves low-income homeowners who struggle to maintain the exterior of their homes. The work is done by volunteers who use donated materials whenever possible. The homeowner must meet certain qualifications for selection for ABWK including demonstrated need, willingness to partner, and ability to repay a no-interest loan.

Open Arms Free Clinic serves residents of all ages living in Walworth County. Their goal is to keep our community healthy without economic hardship and deliver health care with compassion, dignity, and respect. All services are free for qualifying patients, and they provide primary medical care, general dentistry, and behavioral health counseling. Outpatient psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families; group therapy; psychiatric evaluations; medication therapy. All labs, medications, and referrals are also free. They make referrals for imaging, specialists, surgery, and more. They are not an urgent care for sore throats or broken bones. To qualify for services, a person must live or work in Walworth County, have no health insurance (or Medicaid for just dental services), and household income below 200% of the federal poverty level. The enrollment process may be started online by completing the registration form or by calling the clinic directly. Open Monday - Thursday, generally 9-5pm.
